Projectdescription
Domea Randers is constructing 52 Social housing terraced houses
And 1 common house in Munkdrup near Randers SØ. The buildings are being erected as terraced houses in one and two-story structures with overhangs, along with a common house, on a site that, 14,000 years ago, was a settlement of Ice Age hunters.
The vision for the new development is to create a new settlement with a focus on working with GENbank, biodiversity, social, and economic sustainability as cornerstones.
The facades on the south side are constructed with light-colored brick, while the facades on the north side are clad with slate, which is a strong reference to the surrounding nature. The natural slate is selected in 3 shades.
Each residence has its own driveway with a parking space. A small shed of 3.3 m2, where there will be space for bicycles and strollers.
The architecture of the community house
The architectural form of the common house is a reference to the area’s strong focus on sustainability and gene banks. It is designed and shaped after the DNA of an Ingrid Marie apple, which gives its name to the road. These double-curved roof surfaces and curved facade walls create an exciting and varied experience for the development and the surrounding nature.
Sustainability and surroundings
In the project, an agreement has been made with Randers Regnskov (Randers Rainforest) to plant old apple varieties in the common areas. In the long term, there will be opportunities for other good initiatives that the residents can engage in together.
Rainwater is collected in various constructed rain beds and directed between the houses, where it ultimately ends up in a Local Area Rainwater Management (LAR) bed behind the site, which locally manages the rainwater runoff. The construction is carried out in 2020 Energy Class
Project Economy
In the SBI246 review phase 1, a budget overrun of approximately 18 million was identified, triggering a cost-cutting exercise and re-establishment of the project for the next phase.
After the project was re-established, it was subsequently tendered and contracted within the budget framework following the bidding process.
